STRIDE Welcomes Staub as New Administrative Support Coordinator
< Susan Staub
is STRIDE's new Administrative
Support Coordinator.
STRIDE will provide support with grant applications and budget support for affiliate researchers thanks to Susan Staub, who was recently hired as the Center’s new Administrative Support Coordinator.
Staub joined STRIDE in January from the Cal Poly Dean of Students office where she also worked as an Administrative Coordinator.
At STRIDE, Staub will manage grant budgets and everyday Center operations. She will also support researchers with their National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants and other grant applications as well as track budgets, hire students and staff, assist with facilities, and help researchers find resources and navigate campus policies and procedures.
“Susan will be able to help STRIDE researchers throughout the grant application processes – from conception to deliverables,” said STRIDE Director Suzanne Phelan. “We are so excited that she is here.”
Staub worked in the Dean of Students office two years ago after relocating to San Luis Obispo from Idaho. In the Dean of Students office, she supported the Multi-Cultural Center, Safer, Gender Equity Center, hunger program and Greek Life. Specifically, she oversaw student assistants, managed budgets, scheduled room and facilities use, and oversaw day-to-day management of the hunger program, which assured students received food waivers and other resources.
“I am excited to bring the skills I learned working with the Dean of Students Office and apply it here at STRIDE,” Staub said.
Staub said learning about and participating in a research center drew her to STRIDE. During her month here, she has already put her expertise in Microsoft Excel to work, helping to track and streamline budget processes.
