STRIDE Congratulates its Graduating Team Members

December 2014

Terry Ou

After nearly two years as STRIDE’s administrative assistant, Terry Ou will graduate this fall with a degree in business administration and a concentration in information systems. She will move to San Jose, Calif., and join the data assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In June, Ou will embark on a 25-day tour of Europe.

“During my time at STRIDE, I learned to work independently and take initiative on projects. I became comfortable communicating with people I had never met and developed the soft skills necessary for any professional environment. I managed to find a balance between schoolwork, my job and personal life. Most importantly, STRIDE opened my eyes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” Ou said. “I will definitely miss all the beautiful and friendly people at Cal Poly. You don’t get this vibe in any big city.”

Kimberly Woolsey

Kimberly Woolsey, a STRIDE Health Ambassador and A-Team site coordinator, will graduate this fall with a degree in kinesiology and a concentration in exercise science. After graduation, Woolsey will finish the prerequisites for physical therapy school and will apply next fall. She’d like to attend CSU Northridge. Like Ou, Woolsey will travel before she settles into the next phase of her life; she is planning a trip to Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong this summer.

“STRIDE has taught me professionalism in the workplace and how to act when representing STRIDE among community partners. I have learned firsthand what it takes to create an event and figure out how much manpower you need behind it to succeed. Most importantly, though, my experience at STRIDE has helped me improve my leadership skills among my peers,” Woolsey said. “I’ll miss being part of a team and the camaraderie that comes with working with faculty and Cal Poly students alike.”

We will miss Terry and Kim — they brought irreplaceable energy to the STRIDE team. We wish them good luck in their respective futures!
