SNAP-Ed

Children working in a garden

A team of STRIDE students is working alongside our county's public health department to promote nutrition and physical activity at three local elementary schools. An award of a subcontract on a USDA grant makes this outreach possible. STRIDE will share nutrition information on various fresh fruits and vegetables and provide opportunities for almost 4,000 elementary students to taste fresh produce made into healthy recipes.  College students working in the community modeling healthy eating practices and kids learning about healthy eating, tasting new healthy foods, and interacting with college students — this is STRIDE's mission in action!
