Phelan and Hagobian Recognized for Research Projects

Suzanne Phelan and Todd Hagobian

The San Luis Obispo-based New Times newspaper recognized professors Suzanne Phelan and Todd Hagobian for their research projects, Healthy Beginnings and Healthy Beginnings in Partners, respectively. Both five-year-long studies are funded by the National Institutes of Health. Healthy Beginnings, currently in its third year, seeks to assess the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions that aim to improve the health of pregnant and postpartum mothers. Healthy Beginnings in Partners, which began in 2013, seeks to establish and evaluate connections between the health of new mothers who undergo lifestyle interventions and the health of their partners.
