FoodCorps Evaluation Project

FoodCorps

In keeping with its mission of conducting cutting-edge research to advance knowledge of and participation in obesity prevention practices, STRIDE has partnered with FoodCorps. To connect kids to real food nationwide, FoodCorps places service members in limited-resource communities for a year of public service. The goal of this collaboration is to provide FoodCorps with a snapshot of the population it served and to analyze the overall effect their programming has on participants and their families.

Faculty, students and staff from across Cal Poly designed a comprehensive survey and developed a detailed protocol for the project. Select FoodCorps sites across the country will administer the survey at the beginning of their program and again at the conclusion. The STRIDE team will analyze this data and create a comprehensive report of findings.

In the coming months, STRIDE’s FoodCorps evaluation team will expand to include students and faculty conducting data entry, statistical analysis and report generation. Expect to hear more updates as we progress with this important project.
